Sarah T. Jewell

Sarah T. Jewell was the winner of The Writer’s Hotel Sara Patton Stipend in June 2018 and served as a teaching assistant for the poet Alexandra Oliver in June 2019. During her service as a member of the Jersey City Arts Council’s Literary Arts Committee, she was instrumental in launching the first Jersey City Poetry Festival in April 2018, a nine day celebration in honor of National Poetry Month. Her chapbook How to Break Your Own Heart was published in March 2017.  In 2015, a poem of hers, A Prayer for Provenance, was nominated for a Pushcart Prize by the editors of Bird’s Thumb. She is the proud founder of the Jersey Plums poetry workshop which is a part of Jersey City Writers. Please RSVP on Meetup if you are interested in joining them on Saturdays.
