Featuring Jersey City Poets

Jersey City Writers has started posting the selected works from the April poetry contest they ran with Jersey City Independent. Abigail Pillitteri’s poem Our Crafts is the first to be featured.

Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Tracy K. Smith chose to read (on the air!) Aileen Bassis’s poem Beth-David Cemetery Bill. She even discusses it a bit in the clip. Congrats!

  1. I read Organ Corps. Liked it. Reminds me of a story I want to write, They have organs in common. Couldn’t get “My dad the Chemist to load.

  2. Thanks for reading Ira! I’m very new to writing fiction, so I was glad it got chosen for a Jersey City Writers genre night reading. Let me know when you write that organ story, and I can give you some notes on it. Sorry the video didn’t load for you…
